The 2022 Clauzet has a tightly wound bouquet with quite intense blackberry, cedar and graphite aromas that gain vigor with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with quite spicy red berry fruit tones, a subtle Asian/hoisin influence toward the finish that does not impede its typicité and lingering peppery notes on the aftertaste.
A mineral and nicely savory nose with ripe spiced plums, cherries and a touch of hazelnut chocolate. Medium-bodied, this has firm tannins and a tight-grained finish of very good length. Cabernet sauvignon, merlot and petit verdot. Drink from 2025.
Good quality vintage of Clauzet, showing depth and intensity while remaining elegant and balanced. Displays a lovely juicy quality that runs right through the palate, with black fruit energy and supple tannins. 46% new oak.
