Tasting notes
Flowers, and sweet cherries initially bring you into the wine. From there, it is the silky, refined, elegant plums, chocolate, red pit fruits, and truffles that flow easily over the medium-bodied, mid-palate, and finish that get you going back for another sip.

The 2022 La Cabanne is a dense, powerful wine. Black cherry, plum, leather, licorice, incense and mocha infuse the 2020 with tons of nuance to match its decidedly opulent, full-throttle personality. La Cabanne is not exactly subtle, but it is well done in the style.
The 2022 Château La Cabanne showed well, with a red and blue-fruited profile as well as some classic flora, violets, and darker chocolate-like, Merlot-dominated nuances. Medium to full-bodied, this round, lush, nicely textured Pomerol has just a kiss of the firmer, aggressive tannins that can be common in the vintage. It should drink nicely with just a few years of bottle age.
The 2022 La Cabanne is deep garnet-purple in color. It gives up profound notes of licorice, charcoal, tapenade, and tilled soil with a core of stewed black plums and boysenberries. The full-bodied palate is rich and opulent, chock full of black fruit and earthy layers, finishing with a plush texture and great length.
About the producer

Owned by the Estager family, this property sits between Trotanoy and Clinet on the Pomerol plateau. The heavy clay subsoils produce powerful wines that can need time to open up.
