A blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc, the 2022 Pierre Taix La Mauriane is a big, rich, fruit-forward wine, offering red and black fruits, spice, and baking spice. Medium to full-bodied, it has nicely balanced alcohol and a creamy, round mouthfeel. It was aged in 30% new French oak barrels. Total production: 3,500 cases.

The 2022 La Mauriane should be terrific, with ample ripe black fruits, leafy herbs, and chocolate notes, as well as a kiss of flowers. It's medium to full-bodied and concentrated, with quality tannins and outstanding length.
