Mid ruby with bricky rim. Still showing sweet fruit on the nose but the tannins are quite firm and dry. This has the spiciness that comes from whole bunch and the dry tannin complexity too. Could broach it now but a way to go. (JH)

The 2013 Chambolle-Musigny les Sentiers 1er Cru was tight-lipped on the nose when I tasted it at the domaine. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, quite rigid tannins. There is decent, broody, dark berry fruit here, although the finish seems a little serious at the moment. That said, there is a pleasant dash of spice on the aftertaste – this will be interesting to revisit after bottling.
