Tasting notes
The 2020 Meursault Perrières 1er Cru has a wonderful, pure, refined bouquet, showing wonderful delineation and succinctly integrated new oak. The nose offers white fruit laced with subtle vanilla and almond scents. The palate is harmonious and poised, armed with life-affirming mineralité and tension. It builds in the mouth, but there's effortless control. It just goes on and on and on towards the finish. Vrai Perrières! Wow. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

The 2020 Meursault Perrières 1er Cru was quite reduced on the nose and maybe, not unlike Dominique Lafon’s Perrières the previous day, is just missing the mineralité that I seek out in this vineyard. The palate is very well balanced and poised, quite saline, fine linearity and precision, quite persistent on the finish. This is a classy, well crafted Perrières for sure and the mouth is still tingling 45 seconds after the wine has exited.
