The 2022 Bouscaut Blanc is a little deeper in colour than its peers. The bouquet has well-defined, fresh scents of apple blossom, yellow plum and a touch of wax. The palate is taut on the entry with a touch of sour lemon. It loses its way thereafter with an unwanted menthol note that is rather distracting. Perhaps that will disappear with bottle age? Tasted blind at the Southwold tasting in London.

Oakier and toastier than expected, the 2022 Bouscaut Blanc reveals aromas of spices, confit citrus and menthol. Medium to full-bodied, round and enrobing, it has a fleshy core of fruit, great depth at the core and a long, slightly bitter aftertaste.

The 2022 Château Bouscaut Blanc delivers melon rind, cantaloupe, and sappy floral notes. Medium-bodied, juicy, and nicely balanced, it’s another pure, elegant, and well-made white.

The 2022 Bouscaut Blanc opens with scents of white peaches, green guava, and lime blossoms, plus suggestions of oyster shell and wild thyme. The medium-bodied palate has lovely tension and nice crunchy apple and tropical fruit flavors with a chalky finish.
