The 2022 La Tour de Bessan presents a straightforward nose with touches of blackberry, hints of licorice and light floral scents. The palate is medium-bodied and a bit astringent, with dry tannins and a chewy finish. This is not the best La Tour de Bessan I have tasted in recent years.
One of the best vintages of recent years, in that there is clear ripeness here, and rich black fruits, with density and expansion through the mid palate. A little short on the finish as the tannins close in, no need to wait but I suggest a good hour in a carafe. Marie Laure Lurton owner.
Nice transparency with a medium body, and currant and berry character. Hazelnut and sandalwood. Hints of orange peel.
