The 2022 Bastor-Lamontagne offers uncomplicated white peach, dried honey and quince aromas on the nose, just needing a little more delineation. The palate is rounded and sweet on the entry, definitely missing some acidity, with some woodiness that mars the finish. This was not evident on previous bottles tasted, so I attach a question mark against my score and will seek to retaste. Tasted blind at the Southwold tasting in London.

The 2022 Château Bastor-Lamontagne is beautiful, with lots of botrytis-driven aromatics of honeyed orange and citrus marmalade, with some floral nuances. It's medium to full-bodied, balanced, has the richness and power of the vintage, and a gorgeous finish.

The 2022 B De Bastor-Lamontagne Blanc is 100% Sauvignon and comes mostly from clay and limestone, aged for five months in 300-liter barrels on fine lees. Bright citrus, sappy green herbs, and white flowers define the nose. Medium-bodied, clean, and pure, it offers a racy, lively profile with a fresh, crisp finish.

Opulent, touch of grilled caramel and dried apricots, this has a rich texture that threatens to overwhelm the fruit, but there is a lovely mid palate expansion of juicy fleshy nectarine and pink grapefruit, good quality. Organic farming, 44ha vineyard.
