Score 89-91/100 · Drink 2020-2029, Neal Martin, Jan 2019

The 2017 Chassagne-Montrachet La Grande Montagne 1er Cru has a light white peach and fresh pear bouquet, well defined if lacking a little complexity. The palate is well balanced, with a lightly spiced entry, leaning toward the richer side but kept focused and linear by the salinity that crops up toward the moderately long finish. This Chassagne should give pleasure over the next decade. (DIAM GC closure)

This offers an array of wet-stone and chalky aromas with young peaches and flecks of yellow citrus. The palate has a smooth array of fleshy, supple peaches, closing with gently spicy notes and hazelnuts. Drink or hold.

Cask sample. Bright, fresh fruit with a strong citrus note. Correct and youthful yet you could drink it very soon too. (JR)
