Dark red. Blackberry, iron, tobacco and smoky oak on the nose. Sweet, vinous and insinuating, with rather Graves-like flavors of currant, plum, woodsmoke, tobacco and dried flowers. Impeccably balanced, round Brunello with lovely energy in the mouth but no rough edges. Finishes with sweet tannins and excellent persistence.

Mid crimson. Very light nose – one has to fight for aroma. Chewy and very marked acidity but a disappointing lack of weight on the mid palate. Needs quite a time. Quite classical and certainly not rich. (JR)
