Tasting notes
Opaque violet color. Highly fragrant cherry and dark berry preserve and olive aromas show outstanding clarity and are complemented by smoky mineral and spice accents. Deeply pitched blackcurrant and bitter cherry flavors convey a suave blend of power and finesse; a pastille flourish adds complexity. Shows impressive energy and mineral thrust on an impressively long, youthfully tannic finish that leaves behind notes of candied flowers and juicy dark berries. One-third whole clusters this vintage.

100% Syrah. Aged for 16 months in old oak. Cask sample. Tasted blind. Appealing and powerful fruit-led nose. Lovely vivacity and drive behind the meaty and spice-infused mid palate, the tannins are forward and present but integrating into the wine very nicely. (AC)
Spice- and mineral-tinged dark berries, potpourri, olive and a hint of smoky bacon on the highly perfumed nose. Juicy, focused and appealingly sweet, offering densely packed blueberry, cherry liqueur, licorice and candied violet flavors supported by a spine of juicy acidity. Slowly mounting tannins add grip to an impressively persistent, finely etched finish that strongly repeats the floral note.
