(aged all in oak, none of it new): Vivid ruby. Ripe dark berry scents are complemented by suggestions of candied violet and black pepper. Juicy and focused on the palate, offering vibrant blackberry and bitter cherry flavors given spine and lift by tangy acidity. Supple tannins provide grip and focus to a long, spice-accented finish that leaves a zesty berry skin note behind.

Tasted out of bottle, the 2014 Côtes du Rhône les Peyrouses is a juicy, fruity, peppery effort that has medium-bodied richness, lots of plum, blackberry and licorice aromas and flavors, with a polished, elegant and deliciously drinkable style. Drink it anytime over the coming 3-4 years.
