Tasting notes
Score 89-91/100 · William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jan 2021

Offering up notes of plums, sweet berries, smoked meats and espresso roast, the 2019 Pommard En Brescul is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and vibrant, with lively acids and powdery structuring tannins; a little reserved on this encounter, as is often the case, it will profit from another winter in barrel. Lignier regaled me once agin with stories of the badger that inhabits this parcel, which readers may be diverted to learn is large, muscular and terrorizes one of the domaine's sturdier vineyard workers.

The 2019 Pommard En Brescul has a straightforward bouquet with earthy red berry fruit, quite elegant in style. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, a dab of spice and a pretty, peppery finish. Fine.
