Score 90/100 · Drink 2021-2041, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Apr 2022

The 2019 Bellegrave (Pauillac) is showing nicely in bottle, offering up aromas of cassis and plums mingled with hints of pencil shavings and vanilla pod. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and seamless, it's elegantly layered, with powdery tannins, succulent acids and a lingering finish. This is a fine effort for this 8.30-hectare family-owned château.

The 2019 Bellegrave, the Pauillac estate not the Pomerol one, offers red cherries and crushed strawberry on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, a bit hard in the middle with a traditional tobacco finish that feels austere.

The 2019 Bellegrave (Pauillac) is an attractive, if rather straightforward, Pauillac. I would prefer to drink it on the young side, while the flavors retain their youthful juiciness and energy. Pretty floral notes and red berry fruit lift the finish.
