Tasting notes
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley comes mostly from a site on Zinfandel Lane, and there were just 200 cases made. This ruby/plum-hued effort has a solid bouquet of redcurrants, cassis, tobacco, and lead pencil. It's quite focused and precise on the palate, with medium to full-bodied richness, building tannins, and just a balanced, elegant mouthfeel that makes it a joy to drink, although I suspect it will be even better with 3-4 years or so of bottle age. It's beautifully done.

Composed of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon has a deep garnet-purple color and fragrant notes of rose hip tea, unsmoked cigars, powdered cinnamon and cloves with a core of warm cassis, redcurrant jelly and kirsch. Medium to full-bodied, elegantly played and soft spoken, it has nice fine-grained tannins and plenty of freshness supporting the red and black fruit layers, finishing on an earthy note. 200 cases were made.
