Score 89/100 · Drink 2020-2027, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Mar 2020

The 2017 Moulin de Duhart is soft, supple and wonderfully inviting, with forward fruit, silky tannins and terrific balance. Sweet dark cherry, chocolate, spice and mint all run through this gracious, mid-weight Pauillac. The blend is 62% Merlot and 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, and it is the strong presence of Merlot that very much drives the wine's personality. The 2017 is a lovely wine to drink over the next decade or so.

A blend of 62% Merlot and 38% Cabernet Sauvignon brought up all in used oak, the 2017 Moulin De Duhart is a juicy, delicious second wine that has plenty of ripe cherry and currant fruits as well as medium body, a rounded, crunchy fruit texture, light tannins, and subtle tobacco and ripe herb notes. Drink this totally charming effort over the coming decade.
