Tasting notes
The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières 1er Cru does not quite have the breeding of terroir-expression of Olivier Leflaive's Folatières, a little more extract here, peach skin and light waxy aromas coming through with time. The palate is well balanced with a concentrated opening, a little honeyed in texture, moderate acidity but it does not offer the precision of the aforementioned Leflaive on the finish. Drink over the next 10 to 12 years. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 white tasting.

The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières is showing well, revealing aromas of orange oil, spices and fresh apricot, complemented by inviting hints of freshly baked bread. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and supple, its ample core of fruit is underpinned by lively acids.
