Barrel sample. Mid crimson, a little darker than some. Darker fruited too, though there is some oak sweetness – more vanilla than spice – and pure red fruits with a hint of violets. A little more open than their Chambolles Charmes. There’s real depth here, depth of fruit and compact but smooth tannins to perfectly frame that fruit. Compact and elegant at the same time. (JH)
