Score 89-91/100 · Drink 2016-2026, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2014

The 2013 Marange 1er Cru la Fussières, which saw 25% new wood, has a lovely purity on the bouquet with wild strawberry, raspberry and briary notes with a hint of vanilla in the background. The palate is masculine, a little distant, with a firm backbone and an austere but very nicely focused finish. This should age better than many Maranges because there is real density here.
