Tasting notes
The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet La Truffière 1er Cru has a detailed bouquet with granite, hazelnut and light sea spray aromas. The palate is saline on the entry, which gets the saliva flowing. Quite linear and precise, it has a detailed, lemongrass-tinged finish that gently fans out and lingers long on the aftertaste. Excellent.

This isn't quite as elegant but it's just as aromatically complex with its layered nose of white orchard fruit, nectarine, petrol and pretty floral wisps. There is outstanding size, weight and mid-palate concentration to the powerful and muscular imposingly scaled flavors that coat the palate on the driving finish that is shaped by a firm core of ripe acidity. This too needs to develop more overall complexity but that should happen if it's allowed to fully mature. Drink 2029+
