Tasting notes
Thunevin. Light and sweet and round. Very well balanced even if in a minor key. Easy drinking. (JR)

The last vintage for this estate from Jean-Luc Thunevin, this property in Soussans has produced a blend of 70% Merlot and the rest equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, a somewhat unusual blend for this part of the appellation of Margaux. Licorice, black currant, forest floor and floral notes all make for an interesting bouquet followed by a ripe, medium-bodied, elegant wine best drunk over the next decade.
Dark crimson. Extreme ripeness. Dense and sweet and round – so sweet but with freshness too. Pretty extraordinary! The nose just lacks a little freshness but it is a rather remarkable feat for Margaux. Rather dry on the end. (JR)
