2020 Chassagne Montrachet Blanchots-Dessous

The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Blanchot de Dessus 1er Cru has a slight reduction on the nose that soon disappears. The bouquet comprises orange pith, orchard fruit, lime and even subtle white-tipped strawberry aromas. Excellent delineation. The palate is well-balanced with a smooth opening, fine acidity, tanginess and spiciness, with just the right amount of bitterness on the finish. It's not the best in class, but it's certainly a well-crafted Chassagne-Montrachet. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
