Score 89/100 · Drink 2017-2027, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Mar 2017

The 2012 Brunello di Montalcino is a steady and tight interpretation with wild aromas of underbrush, white cherry, grilled herb, licorice and spice. The ensemble is balanced and fresh. This Brunello offers a thin and compact mouthfeel that could fall short in the future. For that reason, I would suggest a more immediate drinking window. You don't need to wait in order to enjoy this wine.

Tasted blind. Just mid ruby. A nose that is a little earthy and with the beginning of undergrowth. Tangy cherry fruit and with big tannins that dry out the finish a little. Quite tannic for the moment. (WS)
