Tasting notes
The 2019 Vosne-Romanée Aux Reignots 1er Cru has a very small reduction on the nose, but the fruit is very pure. Darker in fruit profile than Georges Noëllat's Les Suchots, the oak here is neatly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied, with fine, saturated tannins, perfectly judged acidity and cashmere texture. It may have undergone just a little too much maceration in the winery, as there are some exotic traits toward the finish, but it is a seductive Vosne-Romanée that will age supremely well in bottle. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

Unfurling in the glass with notions of dark berry fruit, baking chocolate, rich spices, espresso roast, mocha and plums, the 2019 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Reignots is full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with a rich, elegantly muscular profile defined by melting tannins and succulent acids. Generous and textural, it's another head-turning wine from Louis-Michel Liger-Belair.
The 2019 Vosne-Romanée Aux Reignots 1er Cru was showing just a small reduction on the nose, but that is shaken off with some aeration to reveal intense dark plum and citrus fruit plus touches of blood orange. The palate is velvety-smooth with finely pitched acidity and good tension. Quite sappy toward the finish, with the structure and persistence one expects from such a noble Premier Cru. Superb.
