The 2019 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is very promising, delivering aromas of pear, orange oil, white flowers, peaches, almond paste and beeswax. Full-bodied, layered and concentrated, it's chiseled and incisive, with tangy acids girdling its rich, muscular core. I'm looking forward to revisiting this in bottle.

The 2019 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru was showing a little reduction on the nose, although there is good intensity underneath. The palate is well balanced with a crisp line of acidity, the tangy orange peel and apricot notes bursting forth, and a racy, tightly wound finish. It lacks a little length on the aftertaste, but it is very focused and brimming with energy.
