Score 91-93/100 · Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2017

The 2016 Pommard 1er Cru Les Charponnières includes 10% whole cluster and 37% new oak. Slightly deeper in color than the other premier cru Pommards, it has a detailed Morello cherry, raspberry preserve and crushed stone-scented bouquet that is very well focused. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannin, tensile blackberry and red cherry fruit with a spicy, very sappy finish that conveys plenty of energy. You can still feel the mouth tingling long afterward. This may ultimately surpass Anne's excellent 2015.
