The 2018 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru is matured in 50% new oak. At the moment that new wood is dominating the nose and speaking over the fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe tannins and good acidity, and a little pinched toward the finish, with a chalky aftertaste. Hopefully it will develop more flesh by the time of bottling.
