Score 96/100 · Drink 2026-2048, Neal Martin, May 2024

The 2020 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru has a taut nose at first, though it doesn't take too much aeration to unlock attractive scents of crushed limestone, lime, yellow plums and light peachy scents. There's real mineralité here. The palate is well-balanced with superb tension from start to finish, not unlike Jean Charton stylistically. There is balletic poise to this Corton-Charlemagne, and it retains wonderful mineralité on the complex finish. Classy from start to finish. The only problem is that it will be difficult to resist in its youth. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
