Tasting notes
The 2016 Lafleur-Gazin has a simple, rather bretty bouquet that here obscures some of the fruit. The palate is medium-bodied, with grainy tannins. A little angular towards the finish, this Pomerol just misses a little complexity and needs more weight on the finish. Tasted at Bordeaux Index's Ten Year On tasting.

Cedar, plums and chocolate on the nose. The palate is balanced and medium-bodied, with caressing tannins, sleekness and elegance. Drink or hold. 10 Years On retrospective.
The 2016 Lafleur-Gazin has improved since its rather middling showing out of barrel. It offers ripe red cherry, kirsch and violets on the nose, the floral element becoming more intense with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded, supple tannin, and denser compared to recent vintages, displaying spicebox and a touch of white pepper toward the finish. A "useful" Pomerol from the JP Moueix range.
