Bright transparent cherry red. Light nose is more restrained than that of the Bourgogne. But there is more delicacy and sweetness on the palate. Very pretty indeed for relatively early drinking. Some real juice here. Red-cherry fruit. Impressively long. (JR)

The 2017 Volnay Village offers gorgeous red cherries, raspberry coulis and light bergamot aromas on the nose. The palate is well balanced with pure dark cherry and raspberry fruit, crisp acidity, very harmonious with a tender but quite persistent finish.
A pretty bouquet of plums, raspberries and candied peel introduces the 2017 Volnay Village, medium-bodied, it is a chalky wine with nice depth at the core for the vintage. It was a little out of place when I tasted it, having been recently racked, but the raw materials are quite promising.
About the producer
Marquis d'Angerville is synonymous with the village of Volnay, having long made some of the village’s finest wines. Best known for its Premier Cru monopole vineyard, Clos des Ducs, this estate crafts fine-boned, elegant styles of Pinot Noir – wines that act as standard-bearers for the appellation.
