Pretty pale garnet. Heady, alluring nose. Sweet and round. Very polished and very Gevrey. Real build on the end. Well done! (JR)

The 2016 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes has a slightly ferrous nose, plenty of rustic red berry fruit with freshness and joie de vivre. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded tannin, good acidity, quite dense toward the finish and perhaps attenuating a little when you are looking for it to fan out a little. But I still admire the balance and precision in situ.
