Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Chassagne-Montrachet les Grandes Ruchottes 2011 from Paul Pillot has quite a lot of reduction on the nose, but there appears to be good fruit concentration and delineation here. The palate is chalky on the entry with bitter lemon and grapefruit notes. It tapers away during the finish so that you end up feeling a little short-changed.

Playful reductive elements. Soft, supple but not featureless – has good sulphidic complexity and pure apple fruit. (RH)
