Broad and ample on the palate, the 2014 Chardonnay Ross Station Estate is wonderfully creamy in its first impression. Baked apple, pastry and buttery notes give the Ross Station texture, richness and depth. Drink it over the next handful of years.

A little closed, the 2014 Chardonnay Ross Station Estate has pink grapefruit and ripe peach notes with nuances of honeysuckle and baking bread. Full-bodied, rich and toasty in the mouth, it has a pretty silken texture and just a bit of warmth on the finish.

The 2014 Chardonnay Ross Station offers even more minerality than the Ellen Lane, with notes of wet gravel, white currants, peach, honeysuckle and tangerine oil. It’s a beauty.

The 2014 Chardonnay Ross Station Estate is another rich, fleshy wine. Tropical fruit, butter, spice and sweet French oak are all pushed forward. One of the most overt, flamboyant wines in the range, the Ross Station is super-expressive today. Pineapple, mango, butter and a touch of French oak from the 60% new barrels flesh out in this decidedly racy Chardonnay from Paul Hobbs. Over time, the Ross Station gains energy and delineation, yet it remains quite overt in style.
