Score 94/100 · Drink 2014-2024, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate, Feb 2013

Coming from a Single Vineyard Greenock, the 2010 Coach House Shiraz has a deep purple-black color and intense dark fruit notes with hints of fruit cake, loam, cloves and chocolate. Densely packed with tight-knit berry preserve, spice and earth flavors, it has a solid structure of medium to firm finely grained tannins and lively acid lending support through the long multi-layered finish. Drink it 2014 to 2024+. Importer: Terlato Wines International, Lake Bluff, IL

Opaque purple. Explosive, spice-accented aromas of dark berry compote, sandalwood, potpourri and cola. Deep, palate-staining blueberry and mulberry flavors are lifted by gentle acidity and pick up smokiness and a candied violet quality with air. Velvety tannins add shape to an impressively long, sappy finish that features intense black and blue fruit.

Loaded with fruit and texture, the 2010 Two Hands Shiraz 'Coach House Block' is 100% Shiraz that was age mainly in neutral French oak for 20 months. It boasts ripe, pure aromas of blackberry, blueberry, violets, sappy underbrush, and wet stone like minerality that flow to a full-bodied, voluptuous, and downright hedonistically styled 2010. Soft, supple, and yet seriously concentrated, with solid focus and cut, this seamless Shiraz needs lots of air to really shine, and didn’t come together until the second day. It is certainly approachable now with a long decant, yet should benefit from 3-4 years of bottle age, and have a very long life.
