Tasting notes
The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Les Baudes 1er Cru has an impressively detailed bouquet of mineral-infused black fruit, pressed iris flower and light iodine aromas. The palate is full of energy, the blood-orange-infused red fruit quite effervescent in the mouth. Palpable energy and a sense of frisson toward the persistent finish. Superb.

The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Baudes (Domaine Gagey) wafts from the glass a superb bouquet peonies, cherries, red berries, rose petals, bergamot, white tea and rock salt. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, with lively acids and refined tannins cloaked in a succulent core of fruit, concluding with a long and perfumed finish. This is especially good this year and well worth seeking out.
About the producer

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
