Score 90-91/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous
Slightly less saturated red. More complex aromas of cherry, dried flowers, woodsmoke, mocha and tobacco. Sweeter entry, then denser in the mouth, with noteworthy freshness and structure. The fruit seems strong here. The chewy, sweet tannins hit the palate later and coat more of the mouth. Brunate was hit harder by hail than La Serra in '95, according to Marchetti, but I found more evidence of dryness other wines.
