Tasting notes
(made from fruit grown in La Landonne, Chavaroche, Rochains and Côte Rozier): Brilliant violet. Fresh cherry and blueberry scents are brightened and lifted by suggestions of smoky minerals and fresh flowers. Fleshy but impressively vibrant on the palate, offering spice-accented dark berry and violet pastille flavors and a hint of candied licorice. Lively, sharply focused and gently sweet on the impressively persistent finish, which features silky tannins and a resonating dark berry quality.

100% Sérine and Syrah (60 years old), Landonne, Chavaroche, Côtes de Rozier, Les Rochains. Mid crimson. Very fresh and energetic on the nose. Solid and very appetising. Bone dry – much less sweet than many of the wines from this producer in 2014. Racy and transparent. Proper classic Côte Rôtie. Relatively delicate but then Côte Rôtie should be! (JR)
