Score 94/100 · Drink 2021-2031, Jeb Dunnuck, Mar 2021

Upon opening, the 2013 Brunello was forward with rustic aromas of saddle leather and fresh turned earth before opening up to fresh cherry fruit, sweet herbs, and dried roses. The palate is vibrant and pure, with a somewhat surprisingly refined and polished structure. After being open for several hours, it held up beautifully, and its wilder aromatics took a backseat, benefiting tremendously from a touch of air. This is a wonderful traditional style for those who will embrace its rusticity to enjoy over the next 10-15 years. 2021-2031.
