Sauzet's 1998 Montrachet is a superb wine. Lovely anise, almond, hazelnut, and mineral aromas lead to a medium to full-bodied, compelling character. This supple, soft, extremely flavorful, and harmonious wine is filled with layers and layers of spiced pears, candied apples, minerals, and toast. It is stunning to find such a profound wine made in what can best be described as a difficult vintage. Importer: Vineyard Brands, Birmingham, AL; tel (205) 980-8802.

Aromas of pineapple syrup and spearmint. Big, ripe, and sweet, with a flavor of peach syrup. This stains the palate, yet also displays finesse. Offers strong potential.
