Score 88-90/100 · Drink 2019-2026, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2017

The 2016 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Argillats comes from vines planted between the two wars. It has an attractive bouquet that neatly embraces the 50% new oak, perfumed red berry fruit, incense and iris, quite Vosne-like in style and well defined. The palate is medium-bodied supple tannin and well-judged acidity. There is something approachable about this 2016 already, yet I appreciate the balance and the freshness, the tension on the finish. Give this just a year in bottle before broaching.
