Tasting notes
(from the Petit Maupertuis, near the holding of Anne Gros): Deep ruby-red. Aromas and flavors of blackberry, bitter chocolate, violet, mint and licorice. Boasts a round texture, superb concentration and serious volume, with some unabsorbed CO2 contributing to the impression of freshness. But this also boasts excellent acidity for Clos Vougeot. Finishes long and vibrant, with complex soil tones and pungent wild herbs.

The 2012 Clos Vougeot is a model of precision and elegance. Graphite, smoke, minerals and black cherries literally jump from the glass. Saline notes become more prominent over time, giving the 2012 much of its intensity and pure resonance. Smoke, savory herbs, plums and layers of black fruit explode on the finish. Perrot-Minot's Clos Vougeot emerges from a parcel in the Petit Maupertuis lieu-dit.
