Score 88-90/100 · Drink 2022-2032, Neal Martin, Jan 2020

The 2018 Maranges La Fussières 1er Cru Blanc has a taut, focused nose with subtle hazelnut aromas that lend it a Meursault-like personality. The palate is crisp and saline on the entry with touches of orange peel and white peach and moderate depth, just tapering a little in terms of intensity toward the finish. Yet overall, this is a fine Maranges Blanc that actually improves in the glass, acquiring more mineralité and persistence. Give it a couple of years in bottle once released.
