Cask sample. Pale colour and lots of life and, perhaps unusually for a Gevrey, delicacy. Recommended. But no longer a bargain, alas. (JR)

The 2021 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes has a perfumed bouquet with red cherries, crushed strawberry and just a touch of kirsch. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins, quite peppery and balanced. It just misses a little grip on the finish. Early-drinking with a modicum of charm.
