Tasting notes
The 2021 Meursault Les Charmes Dessus 1er Cru has a crisp and well-defined bouquet with much more terroir expression than Fabien Coche's Meursault Charmes. It is nuanced with hints of popcorn and walnut. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity, taut and focused, quite tangy with a twist of bitter lemon towards the finish. Fine sapidity, but I would afford this another couple of years to fully cohere. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

Cask sample. Rich, floral nose. So ripe that the acidity is almost lacking! Especially compared with the Bourgogne. Too-heavy bottles still (I meant to bring my scales …). Just a little soft for me. (JR)
The 2021 Meursault Les Charmes Dessus 1er Cru is focused and delineated on the nose, apple blossom mixed with grilled walnut and a touch of smoke. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity, maybe just missing a bit of concentration, though there is satisfying mineralité on the finish. Drink over the next decade.
