(just one new barrel): Bright ruby-red. Wild nose combines black raspberry, mocha and a gamey nuance. Superconcentrated and velvety in texture, conveying outstanding savage complexity to its sweet/savory flavors of dark berries, salty minerality, game and soil. As strongly mineral as this wine is, it's not a bit hard. A very ripe style of Chambertin but the alcohol is a reasonable 13.4%. Finishes saline, musky and very long, with great finesse and sex appeal and a late floral note.
