Tasting notes
The 2021 Chambolle-Musigny Les Cras 1er Cru has a vibrant nose with Morello cherries and raspberry fruit, with a touch of blood orange emerging with time. Nice attack here whilst retaining delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins and hints of sour cherry counterbalancing the sweet core of red fruit. Quite peppery courtesy of obvious stem addition on the finish, there is a lot going on in this young Chambolle-Musigny, so afford it two or three years in bottle as there is much promise. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2021 Chambolle-Musigny Les Cras 1er Cru has a lively black cherry, cassis and wild strawberry scented bouquet, more floral than the Les Charmes. The palate is generous on the entry with supple tannins, lightly spiced, slightly high-toned on the finish with a long black pepper and thyme tinged aftertaste. Excellent, but it will need some bottle age.
