Tasting notes
The 2021 Friuli Isonzo Cuvée Flors di Uis is a beautifully fragrant blend of 55% Malvasia Istriana, 31% Riesling Renano and 14% Friulano that ages on the lees in stainless steel vats before going into bottle. I love the primary intensity and sharpness of this very direct and elegant wine. You get aromas of sweet gardenia flower, crushed stone and light hydrocarbons over a mid-weight, slightly creamy texture. The wine is streamlined with lovely tension and energy. Production is 22,600 bottles.

55% Malvasia Istriana, 31% Riesling and 14% Friulano. Sour pineapple and orange nose. On the palate, fresh white fruit with tropical hints. A little subdued on the finish, so I expect this to age well. Complex. (WS)
The 2021 Flors di Uis is as lively and vibrant as a perfect spring day with nuances of freshly squeezed lemons, wildflowers, wet stone and ground ginger. There's a burst of inner sweetness up front, yet this is focused on purity, as mineral and floral perfumes complicate its notes of tropical green melon. Lifted and racy in style, this finishes with a salty flourish and lime zest notes that slowly taper off, revealing an utterly crisp finale. The Flors di Uis is a total charmer, a blend of 57% Malvasia, 35% Rhine Riesling and 8% Friulano.
