Tasting notes
The 2019 Todos is a blend of 48% Syrah, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petite Sirah, 9% Merlot, with the remaining 5% a mix of other varieties in the vineyard. The rich and powerful nose offers liquorice and sweet blackberries, with blueberry pie and baking spice. Medium to full-bodied, the well-integrated tannins are elegant and concentrated, with fresh, pepper spice and dark red berries that flesh out the mid-palate, building towards a long, harmonious, red-fruited finish. It is really appealing and enjoyable now, but will also reward a couple of years in the cellar. Great value for money.

The black berry character dominates here but there is plenty of crushed stones as well as orange peel. It’s full-bodied yet so refined and gorgeous. Subtle and complex flavors of fruit and dark earth. Creamy textured tannins. A blend of 48% syrah, 26% cabernet sauvignon, 10% petite sirah, 9% merlot, 2% sangiovese and 2% of other grapes. Some co-fermentation. Drink or hold.
Winemaker Matt Dees is considered one of the best winemakers anywhere, and this blend is ample reason to believe the hype. Intense, focused and dry but rich aromas of dark fruit, roasted wood, crushed rocks and wild herb enliven the nose, while the palate is weighty yet expertly tense. Flavors of dried red fruit, peppery spice and milk chocolate float into the finish.
The daring blend 'Todos' (meaning 'All') includes every variety grown on the estate. Still the wine manages to carry the distinctive character of the Syrah and Cabernet that cornerstone the wine. Brambly black and blueberry notes are wrapped with smoke and spice and earth, and with whiffs of violet and liquorice. The palate is coherent and focused, its lush, bright fruit—blackberry and plum—layered with exotic spices, crushed rock, and a hint of savoury salinity, all backed by the firm structure of the Cab.
