Score 86/100 · Drink 2018-2022, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Nov 2018

The 2014 Barolo Tradizione is a pretty wine, but it also comes across as a bit washed out and lacking in depth in this vintage. I would prefer to drink it over the next few years at most.

As the name "tradizione" so clearly implies, this wine never strays too far from its origins. The 2014 Barolo Tradizione is a wine that aspires to capture the territory and the culture of Nebbiolo. It reveals delicate aromas of dried flowers, wild berries, tar, licorice and dried ginger. The bouquet is the best part because it is so polished, clean and direct. This vintage is more streamlined in terms of mouthfeel with polished tannins and medium persistence. Some 80,000 bottles were produced.
