Tasting notes
Moderately saturated bright medium red. Perfumed aromas and flavors of cherry, raspberry, flowers and spices, along with a hint of menthol. Supple and nicely sweet but small-scaled, with modest depth and mid-palate stuffing to support its tannins, which turn dry on the back end. I'd drink this over the next five or six years before the fruit fades.

The 2007 Brunello di Montalcino is an attractive, mid-weight wine laced with dried cherries, crushed flowers, licorice, leather and spices. It shows good aromatic lift yet also comes across as somewhat compact for the vintage. I am not sure the fruit will ever flesh out here. Overall this is a rather lean, austere 2007 Brunello.

Medium ruby just beginning to show some orange. Earthy with a hint of shoe polish and oak and the beginning of tar. Liquorice and lingering fruit, but lots of aggressive, drying bitter tannin. (WS)
